A Network Built for Change
At Risk-!n 2026, Philippe Séjalon had the pleasure of sitting down with Kimberley Cole, Chief Risky Woman at Risky Women, a global network dedicated to connecting, celebrating, and championing women in governance, risk, and compliance. With a clear mission and a growing community, Risky Women is making a tangible difference in an industry where women's voices are still underrepresented.
Why Risky Women Exists
Cole explained that the need for such a network stems from a persistent visibility gap. Women are not quoted as frequently as men as sources or experts in the press, and there are still too few women bylines on articles in the risk and compliance space. Risky Women was founded to change that, by amplifying women's voices and giving them the platforms they deserve.
A Rich Portfolio of Initiatives
The network operates through a variety of programmes. Members connect through live events and benefit from a dedicated writing competition designed to get more women published. Online sessions called RevUps help members build on their Risky Women superpowers, while the Women to Watch podcast provides another avenue for storytelling and thought leadership. One standout resource is the Women to Watch lists, an online directory where anyone can discover an inspiring Risky Woman, whether to connect with, invite for a keynote, or feature on a panel.
A Community Open to All
With a website, a podcast, curated lists, and regular events, Risky Women has built an accessible and dynamic ecosystem. Anyone looking to engage with talented women in risk management can explore the community and find the right connection for their needs.
